At Gold Kist, the chickens don't even get to see the road, much less cross it. The vertically integrated company operates hatcheries, feed mills, and processing facilities. It markets whole and cut-up chickens, chicken parts, and other processed products under brands such as Gold Kist Farms, Early Bird, McEver's, and Medallion to grocery chains, the foodservice and institutional food companies, and export markets. If you love ooey-gooey-good baked goods, H.C. Brill has found your thrill. The company, which is a subsidiary of global ingredients giant CSM, makes a wide variety of commercial bakery products, including frozen doughs and batters, icings and glazes, powdered and liquid fillings, whipped toppings, and frozen cakes. It also makes prepared mixes for bread, brownies, cakes, and puddings, as well as consumer products such as fruit-based glazes and fillings. The company's products are available in more than 25 countries. The company took its present form in 2005 when CSM combined its three bakery-ingredient businesses -- H.C. Brill (which CSM had acquired in 2003), Baker & Baker, and Henry & Henry.

After more than a quarter of a century, The Jones Company has proven it isn't just a flash in the pan. The company operates more than 180 Flash Foods convenience stores in Florida and Georgia. Norsan Group, Inc.
Norsan Group provides south-of-the-border flavor to the Deep South. The company operates a number of Mexican restaurants and supermarkets in the Atlanta area, including a dozen Frontera Mex-Mex Grill and Pampas Steakhouse casual-dining locations.
