AMCON Distributing enjoys a healthy meal, but it's not without its vices. It serves about 5,000 convenience stores, supermarkets, and institutional customers in the Great Plains and Rocky Mountain regions through five distribution centers. Omaha Steaks International drives cattle down the information superhighway to your door. At two plants in Nebraska, the firm cuts and packages its boneless sirloin, filet mignon, and other meat specialties, which are sold through company-owned Omaha Steaks stores, as well as to upscale foodservice clients. Omaha Steaks' catalog unit, established in 1963, ships meats, desserts, seafood, kosher items, and other offerings (including entire A La Zing meals) nationwide.
